It is home to many different species of animals such as the American bison also known as buffalo. It is also home to moose, mule deer, elk and white-tailed deer. There are also mountain goats in the Rocky Mountains; wolves, grizzly bears and black bears in the mountains and wooded areas.

It is not unusual to see mountain goats on your way to Banff National Park, a moose gazing on cars from his half-hidden position among the trees or even a grizzly or black bear crossing the highway without a world of care.

Birds! Lots of migratory birds arrive every spring.
